Early this morning in Hoboken, Hudson River Athletics posted to its Instagram that there was an active situation at the Neumann Leather building on Observer Highway near Willow Ave.
The fitness spot posted around 7:00AM on Thursday, February 27th, “According to Hoboken PD, there’s a dangerous person barricaded in the Neumann building. Access is restricted until further notice.”
A Nixle alert came out at 8:14AM from the City of Hoboken:
Please be advised, Willow Avenue is closed between Newark Street and Observer Highway due to ongoing police activity. Observer Highway is subject to periodic closures in both directions until the situation is resolved. Please avoid the area or leave extra time to get around detours.
The Hoboken Police Department assures residents the situation is isolated to one building, and there is currently no threat to the general public.”
At 9:08AM, an updated Nixle alert came out, sharing that the situation had been resolved and the individual was in custody.
“The situation near the intersection of Willow Avenue and Observer Highway has been resolved safely, and impacted roads in the area have been reopened.
Hoboken Police have one person in custody following the incident. No injuries are reported.
The Hoboken Police Department would like to thank the public for their cooperation and patience.”
