• Real Space Co-Working Opens {+ Introducing Hoboken Girl HQ!}

    It’s just about 6 years to the day that I started HobokenGirl.com — and it’s been pretty crazy to see how our community has grown. I took Hoboken Girl full time {FINALLY, after 5 years of doing it on the side} in January of 2017, and in December of 2017, I decided to sign a lease for a little bit of office space. Because we’re loving the office space so much as a place to get work done, collaborate, and more — I wanted to share a bit more about it. Here’s the scoop on Real Space, where our new office is located, and also an invite our readers and friends to a coat drive and “opening” of our space on January 18th 2018 {see below for details}.

    First things first — more about Real Space {with some Q&A}:

    What is Real Space?

    RealSpace is a new co-working space {located at 94 River Street in Hoboken} created to be an alternative to traditional services or home office [and where our new HG HQ is located!]. In a nutshell, it’s a gathering of entrepreneurs, freelancers, and small businesses in a shared environment — promoting creativity, efficiency, and best of all — a community. They offer desk space and each rental gives members full access to the co-working space. Because you know, working from home is fun in a snowstorm, but honestly — it’s not always ideal, and sometimes can take away from your productivity.

    Who started it?

    Real Space was started by a group of real estate investors that have worked in Hoboken for over 15 years. They thought of the concept of Real Space after they felt the need for a local workspace that generated meaningful work and a sense of community.

    Offices/Desks Available:

    Real Space has a few different options for our entrepreneur and small biz friends in need of getting out of the house to work:

    First — a private office {which is obviously what it explains, fit for you + several team members depending on the space/location/size}.

    They also have dedicated desks — ideal for people who want to get a bit more privacy as well as a lockable filing cabinet below to keep stuff safe overnight.

    For commitment-phobes, they have an “Open Space” option — provides complete flexibility where you can work at whatever time you choose and take advantage of the open work environment while getting inspired by like-minded entrepreneurs and small business owners.

    And the biggest thing that is a struggle as a small business owner is having a meeting room {because c’mon, coffee shops are great — but it gets old after a while and sometimes you just want your own space}. Real Space has a conference/meeting room that is available for booking conference/meetings, and they have 24-hour open access, high-speed Wi-Fi, computer accessories {a printer, scanner, copier}, and kitchen area.

    New Locations Coming Soon:

    Real Space at 94 River Street opened in December, and it already has 75% occupancy. In the coming months, they’re planning to launch second and third locations in Hoboken, giving a different experience for each location. If you’re interested in a desk or private office at the current or new space, email ofri.realspace@gmail.com.

    Real talk from the team though — the space is awesome — we absolutely LOVE it. And what’s even better is that it’s affordable and you get to share a space with other start-ups, creatives, and the like.

    Now here’s more about our coat drive on the 18th — hope to see you there!

    The Hoboken Girl Helps Event + Coat Drive:

    We are excited to have our readers come to visit our new space and help the community at the same time.
