For the Hoboken {or Jersey City} bride looking to celebrate their rehearsal dinner locally, you’re in luck. There are endless options along the Hudson that boast private spaces and impressive menus – making them the perfect locale for your pre-wedding celebration. Check out our favorite Hoboken and Jersey City spots for the night before you say, “I do.”

    The formal upstairs dining room within The Brass Rail is a cozy spot perfect for accommodating up to 70 people. Whether you prefer a traditional sit down dinner buffet, or cocktail style event and combine select menu items with their expansive cocktail menu {open or cash bar – up to you!} for a custom event menu featuring all your favorites. Guests are sure to go cray over the rigatoni and buffalo mozzarella, raw bar selections, or garlic-rubbed skirt steak, just to name a few.

    Del Frisco’s Grille {Hoboken}

    One of the newest Hoboken waterfront venues, Del Frisco’s Grille also basks in the glory of city skyline surroundings. For a rehearsal dinner gathering filled with local flavor and flare, in between toasts and speeches your party can dine on everything from Ahi tacos, New York Strip, and Nutella bread pudding {trust us- it’s amazing}. With a chic, modern atmosphere and an ideal waterfront location {with a parking garage JUST around the corner}, Del Frisco’s Grille also offers private party rooms for some quality time with family and friends.

    Abbondanza Trattoria and Brick Oven Pizza {Jersey City}

    For Hoboken & JC brides looking for relaxed, Italian eatery vibes before their big day head to Abbondanza Trattoria in Jersey City. This cozy, family owned trattoria is named after the Italian meaning of “Abbondanza”, which is abundance – and you’ll certainly find an abundance of deliciousness at this neighborhood restaurant. With a gated private parking lot (such a luxury!) guests will easily join you for your last night as a “single lady” as you dine on a traditional Italian menu with craft pizzas, pastas and entrees. Offering custom menus for party sizes 6-100, enjoy some quality time (and food) with family as you bask in the excitement of your wedding weekend.

    South House {Jersey City}

    If your rehearsal dinner visions are a bit nontraditional, and you prefer games, TVs, and fun over formal fancy dinners, head south {not really, more like west, but whatevs…} to South House in Jersey City. Their basement level room, the Rec Room Bar, is available for private parties and oozes charm, industrial chic vibes, and Texan style. With juicy burgers, bacon wrapped onion rings {OMG!} and endless entrée options, you and your guests will dine on the finest southern cuisine this side of the Hudson.

    Porta {Jersey City}

    This urban pizza oasis nestled in downtown JC is the perfect locale for the pizza loving (who isn’t?) couple wishing to spend the night before their nuptials in a relaxed, industrial atmosphere (think picnic tables, brick, and indoor beer garden lights.) With private event spaces available for reservations, Porta can accommodate anywhere between 20-175 guests, making it a versatile space for any couple’s needs. We know you’ve probably been avoiding pizza in an attempt to get wedding ready – so go on and indulge with your nearest and dearest with delectable Margherita pizzas, lemon risotto, fried artichokes, and more.

When she’s not teaching English to middle schoolers in New York City, she can be found running GrandeGifts (www.etsy.com/shop/grandegifts), writing, shopping on Washington, at the barre’ or binging on Bravo.
