It’s March. There’s still some snow on the ground. And just when we get a little tease of warm weather, the cold air swoops right back in. Anyone else feel like spring weather will legitimately never arrive? Well, have no fear, there’s a light at the end of this freakishly-weird weather tunnel we’re having and it’s called spring break. If you’re itching for beautiful beaches and temps in the mid-80s, it’s not too late to plan your getaway {errr escape?} from the rain, snow, and slush that’s been blanketing the streets of the Hoboken area. Plus, these seven quick and easy spring break getaways are guaranteed to have you there, relaxed, and having some serious fun in just a few hours’ time.

Key West, Florida

Known for its coral reefs, water sports, history, and nightlife, Key West is like New Orleans and New Hope, NJ had a baby that got island fever {aka the perfect fun Spring Break getaway}. Getting there is super simple – and quick! There’s a nonstop flight from Newark to Key West {insert praise hands emoji here}. Another option is to fly into Miami International Airport and take the beautiful drive down U.S. Route 1 straight to sand, sun, and sangria bliss. Flights start around $500 roundtrip, $600 for nonstop.

St. Lucia

Vepo Clean

If you’re looking for a romantic getaway, St. Lucia is an off-the-beaten Caribbean path spot that is a perfect plane ride away. Opt for the honeymoon paradise Jade Mountain {with 3 open walls!} or try an all-inclusive resort Rendezvous St. Lucia for a more affordable-yet-fun experience. There’s lots to do on the island: boating, hiking, helicoptering, and of course — lounging on the beach! Flights start at $460 roundtrip; $1200 for non-stop.

JK Therapy

Nassau, Bahamas

nassau bahamas

Nassau is the capital of the Bahamas and it’s B-E-A-UTIFUL. There are daily, nonstop flights to and from major cities in the U.S. including NYC. Boasting miles of white sand beaches, coral reefs, shops, and restaurants, flock here if you’re looking to forget work for a week {or two} and relax in a warm, tropical climate. Roundtrip with 1 stop starts at $700.

Hobbs Inc

Austin, Texas

Let’s be honest, Austin is a great place to be year-round. Food, festivals, nightlife, a legendary music scene – you name it, Austin has it. It’s also versatile, meaning you can go full-on “Spring Break” OR relax in the Barton Springs Pool, a recreational outdoor swimming pool that is filled entirely with water from nearby natural springs. Oh, and you should eat the amazing food from local food trucks, because that’s just what Austinians do. Nonstop flights start at $285.

New Orleans, Louisiana

If you haven’t been to NOLA, you’re seriously missing out. New Orleans is easily one of the country’s most fascinating cities: Its unique and eclectic culture influences everything from delicious southern comfort food to sightseeing musts to live music and one-of-a-kind architecture. If you plan well, you can leave Hudson County and arrive on Bourbon Street within about five or six hours. See our hotel picks, places to eat and drink, and a few HG insider tips hereNonstop flights start at $375.

AXIS School of Dance

Charleston, South Carolina

Although sitting with toes in the water and ass in the sand is optimal for a little spring break, when you’re coming from 40 and below temps, 60 or 70 degree days can seem like heaven. Enter Charleston, South Carolina. And if you didn’t catch our recent #HobokenTravels post, Charleston is a fun escape to warmer weather, bursting with Southern charm and things to do. Plus, it’s just a quick 2 hour plane ride away from Newark Airport, with flights starting at $250.

Las Vegas, Nevada

Viva Las Vegas! Sorry, we had to. Vegas is, well… Vegas! Famed for its nightlife, 24-hour casinos, pool parties, extravagant shows, and more, you’re guaranteed sun, pool parties, and all the rest. It’s a quick ride from EWR, and depending on when you leave you can book a roundtrip for just about $350 total… cha-ching. And Britney won’t be performing forever, folks.
