The Hoboken Bride: A New Local Series

Well… wedding season is upon us. And, to top it off — I’m {Editor/Creator  [Jen]} engaged!

So, like with Tales of a Hoboken Homeowner, I thought it’d be fun to chronicle the crazy and fun that is wedding planning. Emphasis on fun, we hope. While I never really cared about bride stuff before I got engaged {well…a hidden pinterest board…does that count?}, I felt completely lost once it did happen {besides knowing that I +200% wanted to get married to my fiancé who I’ve been dating and in love with for 5 wonderful years}. To tell you the truth, I really had no major feelings on the matter of the actual wedding besides knowing that walking down an aisle {even as a bridesmaid} gives me anxiety — because I hate when everyone is staring! I also never dreamed of myself in a wedding dress as a child or felt like I needed to look like a princess on the day {even though being dolled up is fun, don’t get me wrong}. Regardless, once it happened, there was really no “guide” to planning a wedding in and around Hoboken…

That’s why HobokenGirl.com will be doing some bridal features sporadically as a new series…

The Hoboken Bride

We’ll be featuring various local businesses that cater to local brides, guest bloggers/experts on various bridal topics, as well as chronicling my personal journey to marriage. Think of it as the “Little Black Book” for Hoboken/Jersey City/etc.

Things like:

Hobbs Inc

– Proposal Spots in Hoboken/Jersey City

– Finding a venue in the Hoboken/Jersey City area

– Staying organized as a bride

yoga renew hoboken

– Style tips for bridal attire {for various events}

– Places to get a dress in the area

– Tailoring services in the area

– Photographers in the area

– Places for stationary and other supplies

– REAL weddings in the area

– And MUCH more!

And hey, don’t worry, this won’t become a wedding blog…because that would be really annoying. It will be most likely bi-weekly posts chock full of fun info on bridal topics. Because I can totally relate to NOT caring about weddings or wanting to read about this stuff. But, it can’t hurt to look. Just like the secret pinterest board that you know we all have.
