We’re sad to report yet another Hoboken classic that is no more — The Hoboken Gourmet Company, located at 423 Washington Street, closed its doors after 23 years of serving the Mile Square. This small, cozy spot was known for its comforting breakfast + lunch menu and was truly a gem on busy Washington Street. Read on to see why we loved this spot:

In a busy little town like Hoboken, it’s sometimes nice to enjoy a meal in a casual + tiny but super-cozy atmosphere. Hoboken Gourmet Company definitely wasn’t the place to bring a huge crowd or have a big brunch party, but it was the perfect spot for a brunch date or lunch with a few of your friends.

Not only is the atmosphere something to remember, but the food was fresh and delicious. From the chicken and waffles to the pancakes, salads, and fresh baked goods, it was easy to leave Hoboken Gourmet Company very full and satisfied. It’s always nice to know your food is being made with real ingredients {and with love, too}.

The Hoboken Gourmet Company has been serving Hoboken since 1995, and was truly a favorite whether you lived in Hoboken since then or if you’re new to town. We hate to see another mom-and-pop shop go, and know it will be missed by many. They’ve already ripped out a lot of their space {pictured below}so it seems that this happened pretty quickly. Hoping the owners find a new, wonderful adventure to enjoy next — and that something great will take its place.

^^ We walked by to see the status of the closing, and it looks like Hoboken Gourmet Company is officially no more. There is a sign on the window that says “Thank you for letting us serve you for 23 years” and the inside is already ripped out. So sad!
