If you’re looking for a unique happy hour spot with unbeatable views of the city since Battello closed this past summer, the latest cocktail lounge to hit Chilltown {yes, that’s a nickname for Jersey City we did *not* just make up} is a good place to start. The Terrace Lounge at 1 Exchange Place inside of the Hyatt House is a new Jersey City locale that includes a soon-to-be rooftop cocktail bar {and currently has a gorgeous lounge with KILLER views}. We recently got a peek at The Rooftop, which will be open to the public in the spring {and enjoyed some drinks at The Terrace, currently open for biz and draaanks}. Here’s a bit more about The Terrace and The Rooftop at The Hyatt House at Exchange Place in Jersey City:

Walking inside the Hyatt House, you’ll be pleased to find this isn’t your average hotel. They have 12 floors of rooms, yes, buuut it used to be a bank, so the lobby is pretty sweet. It’s original flooring and you can walk down a flight of stairs to take a peek at the old vault {which is larger than life}.

But on to the 13th floor: The 10,000-square-foot space at the Rooftop and Terrace boast panoramic views of Manhattan, the Hudson River, Staten Island, and the Statue of Liberty. They have a full service kitchen and bar which are open daily for lunch and dinner {before transitioning into a nightspot from happy hour until 2AM}. #GOALS, GOALS, GOALS.

The Terrace has been open to the public since November 2017, but The Rooftop will be open this spring — date TBD. The Rooftop is a 6,000-square-foot indoor/outdoor bar and restaurant and will have a retractable roof. The Terrace has its own bar and is enclosed by glass, with unobstructed views of NYC. It will have a variety of spaces for small groups and parties. And yes, for bigger events {read: weddings}, you can reserve The Terrace’s entire space — it accommodates seating for up to 150 guests or 300 total standing attendees.

Dranks on dranks, and a view that’s hard to be beaten. It’s safe to say we’ll be back VERY soon, and cannot wait for The Rooftop to open for the summer months. Taking happy hour to another level, all too literally.

Have you been to The Terrace at the Hyatt House yet? What did you think?
