Welcome to the good life! Hoboken Girl has got plenty of events lined up for you this weekend — like the famous St. Ann’s Italian Festival, exercise classes {with a twist} and even the opportunity to be a part of a world record breaking attempt. Read on to find out all the deets on these events along with many more. Here are the top 15 things to do in Hoboken and Jersey City this weekend.

Featured Upcoming Weeknight Event – Hoboken Girl Helps WomenRising: Wednesday, July 26th from 6:30PM – 9:30PM  

Save the date for our supply donation/collection happy hour at The Shepherd and The Knucklehead {1313 Willow Ave, Hoboken} next Wednesday, July 26th from 6:30-9:30PM. It’s free to attend, we just ask you bring supplies for WomenRising, a local women’s shelter that supports women + families in Hudson County. Those who bring at least $10 in supplies will enjoy $4 beers/$6 cocktails {half-off} and $2 off sliders and tacos all night. Supplies needed are tampons, pads, diapers, and baby wipes. Cash donations are accepted and 100% of the proceeds and supplies will go to WomenRising. Hope to see you there!

Club Pilates 2023

Electric BBQ at Liberty Science Center: Thursday, July 20th from 6:00PM – 10:00PM

The Liberty Science Center and Midnight Market JC are hosting a 21+ Electric BBQ on Thursday, July 20th from 6PM – 9PM at the science center. Enjoy plenty of yummy bites and cocktails from local vendors and be wowed by their musical lightning display. They’ll also be having a Best of Pink Floyd Laser Show in thier Dome Theater.  Tickets are $20 per person and the food is cash only. For tickets click here. The Fat Jewish at Pier 13: Thursday, July 20th from 7:00PM – 10:00PM

The Fat Jewish will be at Pier 13 from 7PM – 10PM, and while he’s there you can get $20 bottles of White Girl Rosé, $5 frosé cocktails, and $5 cans of Babe Rosé. Pier 13 is also having their food truck frenzy from 4PM – 10PM.

The Guitar Bar World Record Attempt: Thursday, July 20th from  7:00PM – 9:00PM  

AXIS School of Dance

A world record attempt is happening right here in Hoboken. This goal will be to gather the world’s largest band, and it’s taking place in Sinatra Park. Mayor Dawn Zimmer and The City of Hoboken are even in on it. Guitar Bar is asking everyone to come join the band in their attempt to break the record {Guinness Book of World Records lists 953 participants in Beijing, China as the record, but we can totally beat that}. They are calling on anyone and everyone with an acoustic guitar, mandolin, or ukulele {or any other acoustic instrument} to play along. All songs and info you need are here. Glow in the Dark Flow at The W Hoboken: Thursday, July 20th from 7:00PM to 8:30PM  

It’s a yoga class, but with a twist. At the W Hotel Hoboken {225 River Street} Sound Off™ x Work It Out Studio and W Hoboken Studios will be hosting a Glow in the Dark Flow. Yes, that’s right, a glow in the dark flow. This guided, glow-in-the-dark yoga experience will be sure to make you feel stellar. Participants will even get day to night body art tattoos from Glo Tatts to show off while working out. Sound Off™ headphones will also be available to rid any distractions allowing you to unite your mind, body, and spirit. Check in is at 7:00PM and the class starts at 7:30PM. Underground Vibes at Red at Raval: Thursday, July 20th from 9:00PM – 2:00AM  

Listen to some house music and feel some intense underground sounds {for free} at Raval’s Lounge, Red {136 Newark Ave, Jersey City}. Sleepy + Boo, Tommy Conboy, and Carrera B2B Vuche will be featured. Click here for a full cocktail menu and extra details.

Great Short Books Book Club: Thursday, July 20th at 7:00PM  

No more excuses: this book club only consists of books with 200 pages and under. This Thursday at Little City Books {100 Bloomfield Street, Hoboken}, the club will be discussing Offshore by Penelope Fitzgerald. This novel is short, elliptical, funny, piercing, and pretty everything you want in a good read.

Summer Nights at Pilsener Haus + Kolo Klub: Friday July 21st to Sunday July 23rd   

Sweet, sweet summer. Check out Biergarten’s live entertainment line up for this weekend: Friday will be Rhyme and Reason at 10:00PM, and Saturday will be DJ Bryant E + DJ Nick Demaso. Continue the fun Sunday at 3:00PM for Steven Reilly. Nights here are sure to be authentic, electric, and fun.

Live Music at Maxwell’s: Friday, July 21st at 8:30PM  

We all know Maxwell’s {1039 Washington, Hoboken} is the go-to spot for great live music and they’re at it again this weekend. Morgan Treni and the Landscapes will be playing at 9:00PM, James Calleo {and band} are up at 10:00PM, followed by Unruly Mane 11:00PM. This is sure to be quite a night of great tunes. Tickets here.

‘That 70s Party’ at FM Jersey City: Friday, July 21st from 9:00 PM – 2:00 AM

On Friday, July 21st, Lynn of ChicpeaJC is hosting a 70s-themed party that will support Content Creator Academy from 9PM – 2AM at FM {Jersey City} and celebrate her 34th birthday. 4Ever Young Festival at Lutze: Saturday, July 22nd from 12:00PM – 10:00PM

ChicpeaJC and HayOner are hosting the 4Ever Young Festival, on Saturday from 12PM – 10PM at Lutze Biergarten for $5 at the door. Some of the proceeds will go to the Content Creators Academy and there will be outdoor music, food and other goodies from various food trucks and vendors. Along with the party, Lutze will be celebrating the launch of Lutze Eats!

St. Ann’s Italian Festival: Saturday July 22nd to Wednesday July 26th

The annual St. Ann’s Italian Festival is back and better than ever. In case you haven’t heard, it is a true Hoboken tradition: a 600 pound statue of St. Ann is carried through the streets solely by female devotees. The St. Ann’s Festival gives attendants multiple days of festival fun, nightly music, incredible food, carnival games, crafts, raffles, a beer garden and so much more, and everything is taking place on Jefferson and 7th Street. We Are Dandy Book Release and Signing: Saturday, July 22nd from 6:00PM – 9:00PM

Join Jersey City resident and author Nathaniel “Natty” Adams and photographer Rose Callahan for a book signing event taking place at AMT Vintage {195 Montgomery St, Jersey City}. The event is happening in order to celebrate the recent release of We Are Dandy. The event will encompass special refreshments and treats as well as “dapper folk from Jersey City’s Virile barbershop set up for some men’s grooming touch-ups and advice.”

Cat Yoga Class: Saturday, July 22nd at 9:00AM

 Yes, you read that correctly, a cat yoga class. Asana Soul Practice will be hosting a donation based class to benefit the Liberty Humane Society this Saturday. Tayma Gandur will be teaching the class, alongside her cat, Tofu. According to her, Tofu loves yoga and loves people, and she’s excited for her to be the kitten mascot for such a good cause. Meow.

Magnolia Landing Summer Series: Saturday, July 22nd from 11:00AM – 4:00PM

Marketplace JC {formerly 6th Borough Market} will be heading to Journal Square for the first time ever this Saturday for their new pop up location. Attendants can expect over 25 food, artisan, and vintage vendors in a newly renovated setting with live music and plenty of seating for this outdoor gathering. This event will be taking place near the corner of Magnolia Ave and Summit Ave in Jersey City and will be held every other Saturday through September 9th. The best part? Free entry.

The Style Theory Collective Pop-Up: The Future is Female: Saturday, July 22nd from 1:00PM – 6:00PM

It’s a cause that is super important to us: women in business. This event is a pop-up shop right in Hoboken {38A Jackson St}. The future IS female with online women’s boutique The Style Theory Collective hosting their very first for women by women shopping event. Spirit Day: Sunday, July 23rd from 2:00PM – 5:00PM

Spend your Sunday Funday dockside aboard The Spirit of New Jersey Cruise Ship in order to celebrate Spirit Day. On Spirit Day, attendants can come out for a free open house event, dockside at The Lincoln Harbor. Experience their full, recently redone menu along with new outdoor games and fresh, lively entertainment. Guest can also enjoy a complimentary buffet and soft drinks along with entertainment and a cash bar. We are definitely on board with this.

Bucket and Bay Turns Two: Sunday, July 23rd from 4:00PM – 8:00PM

This event is a combination celebration of Bucket and Bay Craft Gelato Co’s two year anniversary in addition to the release of the new amazing carnival flavors: sea salt caramel corn {Cape May salt and sweet popcorn memories} and roasted peanut {house roasted peanuts and 100% grass-fed milk}… yum.  This event will have live music and, of course, plenty of gelato. At 4:00PM, there will be a kick off to games and music, and at 5:00PM The New Orleans Jazz Trio will keep the outdoor party going until 8:30PM. The stage will be set in the open space in front of Bucket & Bay Creative labs at 150 Bay Street in Jersey City.
