Jersey City residents: Your late-night pizza options are going to be thaaat much more exciting. Tony Boloney’s is expanding their successful small pizza biz and blessing the residents of Jersey City with their insane pizza creations {and garlic knots/subs!}. The pizza joint downtown that originally opened in Atlantic City is known for its unique creations that range from the now-famous taco pizza to the tikka masala pie to the ramen pizza to the cheesesteak olè, and a whole lot more. Read on to see why we love Tony Boloney’s, their history, and get all the deets on their new Jersey City location — which will be at 363 Grove Street downtown:

How Tony Boloney’s Was Born:

“By accident”  owner Mike Hauke shared with us. That’s right, Tony Boloney’s was not created on purpose — but as a happy accident. Mike opened a bodega in Atlantic City to feed construction workers that were working on the Revel hotel {which is now permanently closed}. Although construction on the hotel eventually stopped, Mike didn’t. He made a few subs and crazy pies from scratch that people raved over, and the rest is history.

Pizza: The Jewish Cowboy Pizza

Sub: Cheesesteak Olé

The Unique Creations:

From pies that range from taco to ramen, chicken and waffles and beyond, there’s no wonder why Tony Boloney’s has become a local favorite {and has caught the attention of several national media outlets such as Insider + Devour Power, too}. See some of our fave items from their crazy menu below:

Menu Items:

For the most part, the menu will be consistent of the same items served at their Hoboken + Atlantic City locations. However, some signature Jersey City themed items will eventually launch. Mike shared with us two brand new menu items that will launch this summer at all locations — Bloody Wanker: beer batter panko cod with chips {homemade panko fries} with beet tartar sauce with vinegar and the Hawaiian Shrimp Truck Sub: including garlicky butter north shore Oahu garlic shrimp — and we are totally on board.

Hours:

Sunday – Wednesday 11:00AM-11:00PM

Thursday 11:00AM-2:00AM

Friday + Saturday: 11:00AM-4:00AM
