Welcome to the weekend — it’s been waiting for you. With back to school season in full swing, life’s about to rev up reallyyy quickly, and so will the fun activities. From events celebrating teachers to a half marathon, it’s safe to say that there’s no sign of slowing down anytime soon. Interfaith Peace and Prayer Vigil Supporting DACA: Thursday, September 14th from 7:30PM – 9:30PM

In wake of the Trump administration’s decision to end the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals program, the community will be gathering at Sinatra Park Amphitheater {4th Street and Sinatra Drive} to bring peace and prayer to those affected by this uneasy time. The event is open to the public, and all are invited to bring candles.

Fear: And Annual Art Exhibition: Friday, September 15th from 6:00PM – 10:00PM

Toy Drive For Children in the Shelter: Friday, September 15th from 4:00PM – 7:00PM

Fall in Fall Single’s Workshop at Celebrate Life Studio: Saturday, September 16th from 10:00AM – 3:00PM

While there seems to be pressure on singles to mingle during fall {it’s cuddling season, after all}, it shouldn’t be stressful, so a singles’ workshop should do the trick. Join local Hoboken mama + pediatric cancer crusader Raakhee Mirchandani for Bike For Life: Cyclebar x St. Jude and ride to raise money and awareness to mark Childhood Cancer Awareness Month. Citywide Hurricane Harvey Relief Donations with hMAG: Saturday, September 16th  

Hurricane Sandy was not long ago, so it’s not hard to remember the devastation it brought and the outpouring of help that came from others during that time. This time, Texas needs our help. On September 16th, hMAG is organizing a citywide donation event, where participating bars and restaurants will charge an optional $1 cover charge to donate to the Greater Houston Community Foundation’s Hurricane Harvey Relief Fund. Collections buckets will also be distributed to participating businesses. Help Texas Cut-a-Thon at Various Locations: Sunday, September 17th  

A slew of hair salons in Hoboken are also banding together to donate their proceeds from Sunday, September 17th, to Houston victims. Hair salons include Spesh, Lorraine’s House of Styles, Crew Hair Studios, Mark Daniel, Trim Hoboken, Blow-it-Out Lounge, Stags Only, Hoboken Hair, and Up + Out.

24th Annual Newport Liberty Half Marathon: Sunday, September 17th at 8:30AM

With breathtaking views of Ellis Island and the Manhattan skyline, the Newport Liberty Half Marathon makes racing to the finish line way more motivating. Plus, it doesn’t hurt that the winning runners in each category will be awarded $3,000. Celebrate breaking a sweat with the after party at Newport Town Square with refreshments, music, and tons of goodies to be raffled off. Register here.

Autumn Equinox Sacred Circle: Sunday, September 17th from 4:30PM – 6:30PM
