Weekend plans? Check! Hoboken and Jersey City are filled with exciting, yummy, insta-worthy, and even educational events this week to enrich your mind, soul, stomach, and photo stream. From baseball short plays to block parties to launch parties, this weekend is loaded with a million things to keep you busy. Here are the top 16 things to do in Hoboken and Jersey City this weekend.

The 7th Inning Stretch: 7 Original 10-minute Plays about Baseball”: May 12th, 13th, and 14th

What better way to spend your weekend than watching brand new 10-minute plays about life, love, and America’s favorite pastime: baseball. Saturday’s show includes the Triple Play Party, a FUNdraising event with drinks, food and an auction that, among other cool stuff, will feature four tickets in the general manager’s suite at a Yankees game {sign us up}. General tickets are $30, students/seniors are $18, and the Triple Play Party is $75. These plays take place at The Mile Square Theatre on 1400 Clinton Street. Swing on by for an evening that is sure to be a home run {sorry, we’re done with the puns}. Click here to get your tickets. Screening and Discussion of “Breaking The Silence”: Thursday May 11 at 7:30PM

Visit the Hoboken Museum this Thursday to view and discuss a film exploring the bullying epidemic, by local filmmaker Frank Gigante. Admission is free to the screening “Breaking the Silence,” followed by a Q&A along with light refreshments. Specials guests include Joseph and Jane Clementi {parents of the late Tyler Clementi}, anti-bullying activist Sergeant First Class Gregory M. Williams, and Sopranos actor Artie Pasqule. Covering such an important and relevant topic, this event is one that will benefit everyone.

The Fearless Path Launch Party: Friday, May 12th from 7:00 – 9:30PM

There’s no party like a launch party for a new book, especially when the book is The Fearless Path; A Radical Awakening to Emotional Healing and Inner Peace by Leah Guy of Modern Sage. Celebrate the arrival of spring throughout May in true Bavarian style with beer, music and Schweinshaxe {don’t worry, we had to google it too. Schweinshaxe is a German roasted ham}. This event is happening at no other place than — you guessed it — Pilsener Haus & Biergarten in Hoboken. Live bands will also be a part of the festivities.

Family Fun Day at Maxwell Place Park – POSTPONED DUE TO RAIN

Stay tuned for the new date of the Family Fun Day, which is now postponed due to 100% chance of rain this Saturday. The event will be full of free activities, food, and refreshments. As a way to celebrate the start of the summer season, parents can get outside to enjoy the beautiful weather and get to know their neighbors. Throughout the day there will be tons of entertainment options for kids including a bounce house, face painting, lawn games, and glitter tattoos. Block Party- Support of American Legion Post 107: Saturday, May 13th from 11:00AM – 3:00PM

Stroll on by 308 2nd Street in Hoboken to partake in a block party for a cause. This fundraiser will help fund construction of six units to provide housing for homeless veterans & New Post 107. Faces of Women: Saturday, May 13th at 7:30PM

Come celebrate the 15th annual spring concert that highlights diversity of women’s journeys around the globe and throughout history, presented by Cantigas Women’s Choir. This concert is being held at All Saints Episcopal Church {707 Washington} with a suggested donation of $20 and $10 for seniors and students. {Insert praise emoji hands here.}

6th Annual Hoboken Irish Cultural Festival – POSTPONED DUE TO RAIN

Stay tuned for the needed rain-date for the Hoboken Irish Festival. We’re all anxious to dust off our Lepre-con costumes, free face paint, kilt, and every other Irish-inspired thing we own. The Festival will featuring a bunch of performances, vendors selling things like like Irish food, crafts, clothing + more. There are even activities for children including pony rides, petting zoo, moonwalk, inflatable obstacle course, and face painting. Stay tuned for the postponement date and go here for more info.

Tessa International School Open House: Saturday, May 13th at 9:00AM

Hola. Ciao. Bonjour. Tessa International School is a unique International School located on the Monroe Center ground floor and is for ages 2 1/2 and up. At the open house, you can meet teachers, have breakfast, have your children partake in language activities, and see the space.

3rd Anniversary of ChicpeaJC Showcasing Creative Youth: Saturday, May 13th from 6:00PM – 12:00AM

On May 13th, ChicpeaJC will Turn three at The Harborside on the Waterfront in Downtown Jersey City. This event is celebration of the blog’s journey and growth, a showcase of young artists from the Jersey City area, as well as the official launch of Content Creators Academy (CCAJC) — a non-profit youth mentorship program that provides resources for young individuals who are interested in the creative and digital space. There will be a fashion show, performances, a silent auction, + more surprises featuring local creatives under 25. There will also be local vendors for anything from fashion to food. 19th Annual Hoboken Harriers 5 Mile Race: Sunday, May 14th at 10:00AM

It’s the Mother of All Races, happening no other time than Mother’s Day. Lace up your sneaks and head on down to the 19th Annual Hoha Classic, promoted by the All Saints CDC and The Hoboken Harriers Running Club.
