16 Vendors to Visit At The Holiday Market Craft Fair on Grove {Dec. 9th-10th}

Ready or not, here the holidays come! If shopping for everyone on your list hasn’t exactly crossed your mind — don’t stress — the Historic Downtown Special Improvement District’s {HDSID} Jersey City Holiday Market and Craft Fair is just around the corner {to help you get all your presents in a one-stop-shop}. The craft fair is going down on December 9th and 10th from 12:00PM to 6:30PM in downtown Jersey City and will feature tons of your fave local vendors, including plenty of food from Midnight Market, so you can support small. Not to mention, the space is heated so you can shop comfortably.

At then event, you can expect to feel like you’re literally walking into a Winter Wonderland at Grove Street Plaza {314 Grove Street}. Left Bank will be serving holiday drinks to get you in the spirit, and yes, Santa Claus will be there for photos and laughs. Here are just a peek into some of the vendors you’ll want to check out at the event.

A favorite vendor at Midnight Market, Mofflebar whips up ooey-gooey chewi mochi desserts inside a crispy waffle batter situation. It’s basically heaven on earth. From a seasonal hot chocolate flavor to mystery treats including Unicorn, your taste buds are about to receive an extra special treat. Did we mention they’re Gluten Free?!

Let your true Jersey Girl shine with a decoration that says it all for you. Handmade in JC, these recycled plates are a true keepsake that you can customize for every person on your list. If your gift recipient is strictly a NJ/NY dweller, you can tell them to only use those plates, so everyone is happy. The creator behind the plates, Rob, started collecting them in 2010, so the options are endless.

A Hoboken bakery near and dear to the Mile Square, Baking Mama specializes in handcrafted macaroons, cookies, cupcakes, and cakes made with love right from Baking Mama herself. With macaroon flavors including Dulce de Leche, S’mores, and Green Tea, these aren’t your run-of-the-mill French cookies. Baking Mama also offers classes, so you can take home with you some of her best-kept baking secrets.

Angry Archies was born when Chef Chris Curado and his cousin Michael Ponte teamed up to reinvent the signature dish in Italy called “The Angry Lobster.” Now, the lobster-specialty restaurant serves up seafood dishes including and Angry Crab Sandwich, a lobster roll, and chicken sandwich. No worries — you’ll be anything but angry after your first bite.

Get your Belgian waffle fix on the go without booking a plane ticket. The fancy food truck has been named “most seductive sweet” and top truck for a reason — it doesn’t mess around when it comes to crazy combinations. While there’s no quote-on-quote chicken and waffles on the menu, there’s a sautéed chicken waffle topped with caramelized onions cooked in wine sauce. We couldn’t think of a more fitting way to test out a French take on the famous soul food.

Everyone has a chocolate lover to shop for, but give them a taste of something they can’t pick up at the grocery store.
