Cealy + Phil

I had lived in Rome for a semester during college and fell in love with the city. Phil and I planned a trip there last March so he could get a taste of the city and proposed at the Hotel Raphael on our first night. He knew how special this place was to me and the fact that he proposed there only adds to the wonderful memories! When we got back to Hoboken, (our home) we planned our engagement shoot along the waterfront and started planning our wedding day in New York City. We thought it would be fun to include all our favorite cities!” ~ Cealy

Melissa and Mike

“Mike & I met online in June of 2014. We instantly connected over their love of Full House, and as we talked more, we knew we had to meet. Our first date consisted of mini golfing, then appetizers & drinks. It was from that moment that I knew I had met my soulmate. Three weeks later, on 7/12/14, while sitting on a park bench in Hoboken admiring the NYC skyline, Mike asked me to be his girlfriend! Fast forward 3 1/2 years and thousands of laughs, adventures and amazing memories later, Mike proposed on the beach in Cape May on 12/2/17. We had just finished breakfast at my favorite spot when Mike suggested to take a walk on the beach to see if there were any dolphins, since I loves them. While talking, Mike got down on one knee. The proposal was everything I have ever dreamed of! On 11/2/18 we will become husband & wife in front of family & friends!” ~Melissa

Chris and Danielle

“Chris and I met at Pier 13 by chance in September of 2016. Within a month we were dating and planned a trip to Paris and London for November of the same year. We fell in love fast and Hoboken has been a huge part of our story. I lived in South Jersey and used to travel every weekend up to Hoboken to spend time with Chris before finally moving in together May 2017 right in central Hoboken.

One of our shared obsessions is Harry Potter! (Nerdy I know!!) On March 3rd, we went to see one of the Harry Potter movies with a live Orchestra at NJPAC in Newark. We had dinner reservations for that night at Cucharamama, and Chris suggested getting a drink by the water before dinner.

After parking, Chris said he wanted to take a picture of the skyline at sunset. We have this thing where he takes a picture of me looking at landscapes, so he suggested I turn around and look at the city so he could take a picture. When I turned around he was down on one knee and asked me to marry him! I was so surprised.

We were lucky that a couple walking by was able to snap a few pictures of the moment happening, and they graciously text us the pictures so we could relive the moment and share with family and friends.

It was a complete shock. After the proposal, we continued celebrating in Hoboken at Cucharamama, where Chris surprised me by inviting both of our families to share in the moment. It was pure magic! Hoboken was the start of our love story and I couldn’t imagine getting engaged anywhere else!” ~ Danielle

Jillian and Matthew {Mac}

“Mac and I met in the summer of 2014 where all great love stories begin, the Jersey Shore. I was in a summer house in Manasquan with a group of friends & family. Mac and my cousin Steven worked in insurance in NYC, and Mac ended up getting a last minute share in his house. After a few weekends down the shore, Mac was asking Steven about “the girl with the big blue eyes”. After some well-played matchmaking by my cousins and friends and many a night in Djais, The Parker House, and Leggets- we hit it off and dance-circled our way to love.

For two years we traveled back and forth into the city to spend weekends together. But a true Jersey girl at heart, I knew I would have to find a way to convince Mac to cross the river. In 2015, he finally made the move, and made Hoboken home. On March 30th, 2018 Mac got down on one knee and popped the question on the waterfront right outside of ‘Blue Eyes’ Cafe [see what he did there?].

Of course, my answer was yes! I quickly noticed my older sister, Erin, was there with her Canon to capture the moment. There was something very special about having her be the one to freeze this moment in time for us. After a group hug and a few tears, we met up at Mac’s sister Morgan’s Hoboken apartment ( who was also in on the surprise). After a champagne toast, we headed to Amanda’s Restaurant in Hoboken, where Mac had planned a special dinner with our families. We finished the night at City Bistro for drinks surrounded by family and friends. At the end of the night, I couldn’t be happier! On the Uber ride home from our first date, I called my mom and said “I think he could be the one” And now he is.” ~Jillian
