If last weekend’s Fourth of July festivities left you a bit… tired, then you’re probably looking forward to a nice relaxing few days this weekend. Lucky for you, we’ve lined up a few good ones for you {and even a few happening during the week, too!}. Here are the top 5 things to do in Hoboken + Jersey City this weekend!

Free Summer Concerts at Sinatra Park: Thursday, July 6th and Friday, July 7th at 7:00PM  

Come out for Hoboken’s Annual Summer Bash on Thursday, July 6th, hosted + sponsored by the birthday boy, Frank Raia. The event will be held at Sinatra Park and promises to be yet another year of awesome music, food, and fun! Check out the website for more information.

If you miss Hoboken’s Summer Bash, be sure to come to Sinatra Park on Friday, July 7th for the award winning 63rd Army Band. Stationed in Sea Girt, NJ, this is the largest army band is the state and includes some of the best professional and amateur musicians in the area. The City of Hoboken and Tempest Productions present So You Want to Be a Pirate! — the next in a series of StoryBook Theatre presentations. An interactive experience for the whole family, join your favorite storybook characters and be part of the singing, dancing, and plank walking. Be there when Elysian Park {10th and Hudson St.} becomes a FREE magical world of books for all ages {but mostly kids}.

 Located on the property of a old converted Union Hall, the Pacific Flea Antique and Artists Market is happening this weekend in Jersey City. Owner and life long collector Stuart Metrick offers up everything from cameras and records to repurposed light fixtures, oddities, housewares and more — with new items popping up each month. Seinfeld “Brunch” Trivia at Wicked Wolf Hoboken is happening on Sunday, July 9 starting 1pm. Reservations can be made by visiting here. The best way to reserve tickets is by selecting a team captain and having them be in charge of tickets for all team members.

The NJ State Fair at the Meadowlands: Thursday, June 22nd – Sunday, July 9th

It’s still happening, people… but not for much longer! This weekend is the last weekend for the largest fair in the New York metro area. With over 150 rides and attractions, it is open again this summer for their 31st season, running now only through July 9th. The fair is being held at the Meadowlands Fairgrounds, next to MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, NJ. The fair features free entertainment and special attractions. Check out the full list of rides, food, animals, daring thrill shows, and so much more. This is an NJ can’t miss event.

Hoboken’s Party With Purpose 5K Race: Tuesday, July 11th

This is definitely not your traditional 5k, as this is a whole day {and evening} event. One of the biggest races in Hoboken, this 5k, organized by Party with Purpose, benefits several local charities including the Boys + Girls Clubs and the Jubilee Center. After a kid’s fun run at 3PM and other family activities during the day, the actual race start time is 7pm with an after party on the waterfront immediately following. Over 1500 runners race along the Hudson for this great cause. Get involved here.
