To honor Breast Cancer Awareness Month, there will be a dedicated event to women’s health taking place at NJPAC. The Let’s Talk: Women’s Health + Wellness event will be hosted from 8:30AM to 4:30PM on Saturday, October 21st. Women will be able to come together as one — men are also invited to participate — to learn from one another and experts within the health industry. It will be a space talking about women’s well-being, and health, and becoming educated about the pillars of wellness.  Read more about the Let’s Talk event happening this weekend in Newark, NJ at NJPAC.

About the Event + Ticket Information

The Let’s Talk: Women’s Health + Wellness event started as an idea curated by Founder and former Executive Director of Susan G. Komen North Jersey, Deborah Q. Belfatto. She had been given a second diagnosis of breast cancer in the midst of the COVID-19 pandemic. From there she thought to herself, “I have always felt strongly that every woman is deserving, entitled, and worthy of the highest standards of healthcare.” She also added, “But what about self-careWomen so often be the primary caregivers, and we tend to put work, family, children — everyone and everything else — before our needs,” per a press release.

With all these thoughts in the back of her mind, Deborah teamed up with her friend and executive producer Gail P. Stone of Gail P. Stone Events. That’s when the Let’s Talk: Women’s Health + Wellness event came to life. This year, on October 21st, the event will be co-hosted by Dr. Chris Pernell and Dr. Anita Sands. Each of these hosts will be presenting their own sessions packed with health information.

Apart from these two host-led sessions, there will be other sessions featuring other experts. Doctors, authors, health, nutrition, and wellness coaches, fitness professionals, and financial advisors will come together to give insight on health-related topics. Every participant will be guided by these experts through the eight attributes of wellness. The Let’s Talk’s “Eight Pillars” of wellness are: social, emotional, intellectual, physical, nutritional, emotional, financial, and spiritual wellbeing.

After hearing from experts, guests can also join in on the fun planned for the day. There will be various wellness brands providing handmade crafts, jewelry, healthy baked goods, plants, and other items that will be sampled or on sale to purchase. The event will conclude with a dance party to let loose and mingle with other attendees. There will also be Let’s Talk swag bags made up of healthy goodies for on-the-go.
