The W Hoboken’s new restaurant officially opens to the public on Monday, May 23rd. Halifax will replace Zylo inside the hotel located on 3rd and Sinatra. For the past few months, Zylo has been operating out of The Living Room at the W while the restaurant space underwent renovations in preparation for Halifax’s opening. The new restaurant is a collaboration between Executive Chef Seadon Shouse and owner Michael Barry and places focus on sustainability by featuring underutilized fish and locally-sourced meat, produce, and dairy. The new menu looks delishhh and we love that another new and updated spot will be joining Del Frisco’s, House of ‘Que, The Ainsworth, and Blue Eyes in what’s really turning out to be a waterfront restaurant row in Hoboken.

On Friday, May 20th the first Propeller Festival came to Hoboken celebrating innovation, technology, and entrepreneurship. The weather was absolutely beautiful as more that 7,000 people gathered on Pier A to listen to and incredible line of speakers and visit the tents of exciting start-ups and established companies alike. The festival received accolades across social media, with some calling it the “South by Southwest of NY Metro”The Instagram hashtag #propellerfest filled up with photos of the skyline, Hoboken, and selfies with entrepreneurs like Gary Vaynerchuk. The conference also featured food trucks, cornhole, and lounge chairs for people to relax on the pier throughout the day. The evening ended with a musical performance from The Naked and Famous. We’re so happy to see a festival celebrating the though-leadership community. Congrats to creator and Hoboken-local Aaron Price on an amazing event!

AXIS School of Dance

We were so happy to hear the news of Hoboken’s Jennifer DiPietro being honored at the Pinot’s Palette Annual Retreat in Galveston, Texas. DiPietro received the Smooth Strokes Award for implementing the smoothest studio open of 2015, rising about the 32 other locations that opened last year. The Hoboken paint-and-sip studio is the first location in the country that is not on the ground floor. We were able to celebrate with Jenn back when she first opened and totally agree that it was a wonderful opening. Congrats Jenn and the Pinot’s Palette team!

Greek Town has officially opened at 86 Garden Street in Hoboken. The new restaurant fills the space where Legal Beans used to be. We haven’t had the chance to try it yet, but got the info from a neighbor who reached out to tell us how great it was {thanks Jessica!}, so we figured we’d spread the word. There isn’t too much information available yet online, but all reviews {minus one} on Yelp! have been great. Have you been? Can’t wait to try!

They put a different twist on the typical market, also offering the “rummage” opportunity for people to purchase tables and sell used goods flea market-style. The market also offers $10 yoga classes on the lawn every morning at 8AM. We are so excited for Farmer’s Market-season in Hoboken!
